President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Mrs Oyinkansola Badejo Okusanya, SAN, on her historic election as the first elected female President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), describing the achievement as a major milestone for Nigeria’s legal profession.
Tinubu, through a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, described Badejo Okusanya’s emergence as a demonstration of merit, excellence and gender inclusion within the legal community.
The President noted that her years of professional service, commitment to justice and contributions to the legal sector earned her the confidence of lawyers across the country.
Badejo Okusanya’s victory makes her the first woman to be elected directly by members of the NBA to lead the association and the second woman to occupy the position in its history.

Tinubu urged the new NBA President to use her position to strengthen the legal profession, promote justice reforms and improve access to justice for Nigerians.
The President expressed confidence that her leadership would contribute positively to the administration of justice and the advancement of the rule of law in Nigeria.
