Osun APC Reviews Election Results, Considers Next Move

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said it is reviewing the results of the governorship election across the state’s 332 wards before deciding its next step.
In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Kola Olabisi, on Sunday, the party said it was carefully examining the outcome of the poll.
The APC described election as a process that starts with voter registration, followed by party primaries, voting, legal proceedings and, where necessary, appeals up to the Supreme Court.
“An election cannot be said to have been concluded without having explored all these constitutionally allowed legal opportunities to enrich the nation’s jurisprudence as enshrined in the Electoral Act 2026 as amended,” the party said.
The party said it would explore all options provided by the Electoral Act after consultations with its legal team, describing the move as part of democratic practice and the pursuit of justice.
The APC thanked its members and supporters for their commitment, urging them to remain calm and continue their normal activities.
It also called on the Nigeria Police Force to protect its members and supporters from what it described as harassment by the opposition, while assuring them of the party’s support.
“The current situation in the political history of the state is a passing phase which will soon become part of history,” the statement added.
