Why We Rejected Ceasefire — Iran

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has explained why the country does not want a ceasefire in its ongoing conflict with the United States and Israel.

Speaking to State Television on Monday, Araghchi stated that Iran does not seek to end the war because it intends to teach the US and Israel a lesson they will never forget.

The war began in late February when the US and Israel attacked Iran, killing its Supreme Leader and many others.

The conflict has escalated, with US interests across the Middle East targeted.

Araghchi emphasized, “When we say we don’t want a ceasefire, it’s not because we seek war. It’s because this war must end in a way that ensures our enemies never again think of repeating these attacks and aggressions.”

He added, “I think they’ve learned a valuable lesson. They now know what kind of nation they are dealing with—a nation that won’t hesitate to defend itself and is prepared to carry the fight as far as necessary.”
