Senator Abaribe Quits ADC, Joins Labour Party

Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe representing Abia South has officially left the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the Labour Party (LP).

He made the announcement on Monday, citing persistent uncertainties and ongoing legal disputes within the ADC as the reason for his decision.

“Considering the multiple lawsuits and court judgments affecting the ADC, I have today resigned from the party and joined the Labour Party with immediate effect,” he stated.

Abaribe clarified that his decision was not a reflection on the party leadership or members.

“This move does not change the strong and supportive relationships I have enjoyed with the ADC leadership and members,” he said.

He described the defection as a difficult choice that leadership sometimes requires.

“It is a tough call, but leadership demands tough decisions, especially in uncertain times, and I thank everyone who has supported my journey for a better Nigeria,” Abaribe added.
