Osun NURTW Chairman Rejects Allegation of Plot Against Governor’s Son

Kazeem Oyewale, acting chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers in Osun State, has denied claims that he plotted to harm Adebayo Adeleke, the son of Governor Adeleke.
The allegation was made by the state government through the Commissioner for Information, Kolapo Alimi, who linked the attack to hoodlums allegedly under Oyewale’s influence.
The government said the incident occurred in the Oke-Fia area, near the Osun Government House.
Speaking to journalists in Osogbo, Oyewale called the claims false and said he plans to seek legal redress.
He accused the government of targeting him unfairly and requested protection from President Bola Tinubu and the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu.
“They are calling for my arrest over lies and threatening me without evidence,” Oyewale said.
He recalled that his younger brother was killed in November 2022, and the body has still not been released to the family.
Oyewale said the new allegations are part of a recurring harassment campaign during the election season.
“They are making claims they cannot prove, including that I want to harm the governor’s son. These accusations are completely false,” he added.
He dismissed suggestions linking him to the Accord Party or the destruction of billboards.
“It does not make sense. I am a member of the APC. Any problem in another party should not be blamed on me,” Oyewale said.
He assured his supporters that they have nothing to fear and vowed that the government’s intimidation tactics will not succeed.
“The indiscriminate arrests of NURTW members in 2022 will not happen again. That is why they are spreading lies against me now,” he said.
