Ekiti PDP Candidate Backs Tinubu, Launches Grassroots Movement For 2027

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the recently concluded Ekiti State governorship election, Wole Oluyede, has expressed support for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, announcing plans to establish a grassroots mobilisation platform across the state.
Oluyede said he believes President Tinubu can secure overwhelming support in Ekiti through strategic engagement with communities and collective efforts by political stakeholders.
The PDP chieftain disclosed his intention to launch the Oluyede Progressive Alliance for Renewed Hope Agenda, a platform designed to bring together leaders and members of different political parties in Ekiti for consultations and mobilisation ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
In a statement issued in Ado Ekiti on Thursday, Oluyede said the initiative followed a strategic meeting with President Tinubu in Abuja, where he presented a document titled “Strategic Grassroots Mobilisation for the Renewed Hope Agenda” to the President.
According to him, the document contains a framework for strengthening grassroots participation and building wider support for Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda across Ekiti State.
Oluyede said the meeting with the President focused on the future of Ekiti State and strategies for creating an inclusive movement capable of increasing public participation, promoting unity and supporting Tinubu’s re-election bid.
“The meeting with the president focused on the future of Ekiti State and practical strategies for building an inclusive grassroots movement capable of strengthening public participation, promoting national unity and delivering overwhelming electoral support for President Tinubu in the next presidential election,” he said.
He added that although the June 20, 2026 Ekiti State governorship election had ended, attention should now shift towards broader national issues and supporting initiatives that would contribute to Nigeria’s progress.
“While the June 20, 2026 Ekiti State governorship election has come and gone, the task of building a stronger Ekiti and contributing to Nigeria’s continued progress must now take centre stage. Our focus must now shift to the next national assignment. It is time for all lovers of Ekiti and Nigeria to unite in support of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” Oluyede stated.
The development comes as political activities and alignments continue to intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
