Oyo Security Adviser, Bibire Congratulates Principal On APM Presidential Candidacy, Says Nigeria Needs Him

The Special Adviser to the Oyo State Governor on Security Matters, Abayomi Fagbenro-Bibire, has congratulated Governor Seyi Makinde on his formal emergence as the Presidential Candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement for the 2027 general election.

The retired US Navy Veteran pronounced the development as an answer to the clarion call by Nigerians for responsible leadership, as reality, through the achievements recorded in Oyo State, has proven Governor Seyi Makinde as the only one capable of providing the kind of leadership the country yearns for.

Bibire stated this in a congratulatory message made available to journalists today following the formal confirmation of Governor Makinde as the APM Presidential Candidate at the party’s National Convention in Bauchi on Thursday.

He said Makinde’s decision to seek the presidency came at a time when Nigerians are vehemently looking for leadership that can confront the country’s economic and security problems with clear thinking, and practical solutions.

According to him, the Governor’s record in Oyo State has given Nigerians a clear window into his leadership capacity and the manner he manages public affairs when entrusted with the responsibility to lead, particularly in infrastructure, security, education, healthcare, investment, and the judicious management of public resources.

He said, “I congratulate my principal, His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde, on this important step, and I am confident that the same commitment he has shown in Oyo State can be brought to bear on the national challenges confronting Nigeria today.”

The security expert said Nigerians are tired of explanations for problems that had remained with them for years, adding that what the country needs now is Governor Seyi Makinde’s leadership that listens to the people, understands their difficulties, and gets the work done.

“Nigeria needs a President who understands what ordinary people go through, who listens to the people, and who is ready to take practical decisions when the situation demands it, and I believe Governor Makinde has shown these qualities in Oyo State,” he established.

He noted that the current hardship being experienced by many Nigerian families requires serious attention to the cost of living, jobs, food security, security of lives and property, and the creation of an economy where ordinary Nigerians can have a fair chance to improve their lives.

Bibire said, “The people are asking for a government that will put them first, protect their lives, make it easier for them to earn a living, and give them confidence in the future, and I believe Governor Makinde understands this because he has spent the last seven years working directly with the people of Oyo State.”

He described the Governor’s emergence as a national candidate as an opportunity for Nigerians from different parts of the country to look beyond political differences and consider what each candidate has done with the responsibilities already entrusted to them.

Bibire also welcomed Governor Makinde’s call for cooperation with like minded political leaders, saying Nigeria’s problems are too serious for any individual or political party to pretend that it has all the answers.

He said, “Nigeria needs people who are ready to sit together, put aside personal interests, and find workable answers to the problems before us, and that is the kind of politics I believe Governor Makinde is taking to the national stage.”

Bibire also applauded the choice of Alhaji Lawal Musa Daura as the Governor’s running mate, describing his experience in the security sector as an important addition to the ticket at a time when the safety of Nigerians remains a major national concern.

He said the combination of Makinde’s experience in governance and Daura’s background in national security will provide the kind of leadership required to address some of the country’s pressing challenges.

Bibire further congratulated members and leaders of the Allied Peoples Movement for the confidence placed in Governor Makinde, while urging party members and supporters across the country to remain focused on the issues that matter most to Nigerians.

He wished Governor Makinde and his running mate a successful campaign, while praying that God would grant them the needed wherewithal to navigate the road ahead.
