[BREAKING] 2027: Fagbenro Bibire Endorses Gbolahan Ibikunle For State Assembly

Frontline APM chieftain, Honourable Abayomi Fagbenro-Bibire, on Thursday gave his full backing to Honourable Gbolahan Ibikunle as the party’s candidate for the Ibadan Northwest State Constituency in the 2027 Oyo State House of Assembly election.

He made the declaration at a special meeting organized by members of the Bibire Peoples Vision Association from Ibadan Northwest Local Government, held at Ebenezer Primary School, Salvation Army Road, Ibadan.

The endorsement was later affirmed through a voice vote by the large number of supporters who attended the meeting and openly backed the choice of Ibikunle.

Bibire said the decision followed careful consideration of Ibikunle’s background, experience, preparation and understanding of the needs of the people of Ibadan Northwest, adding that he believes the candidate can give the constituency effective representation at the Oyo State House of Assembly.

The Special Adviser on Security to Governor Seyi Makinde said, “We have looked at Hon. Ibikunle, his preparation and what he has to offer, and we believe he is the right person for this assignment, hence, I am asking every member of our political family to stand with him.”

Bibire assured Ibikunle that the endorsement came with the full support of his political structure in Ibadan Northwest, saying his supporters would work assiduously to ensure victory for him at the polls.

He also said the decision was part of efforts to sustain the good work of Governor Seyi Makinde in Oyo State, noting that the people should support candidates who would protect and build on the progress already recorded by the administration.

Addressing the mammoth crowd of party supporters that thronged the venue of the political gathering, Ibikunle thanked Bibire and members of the association for the confidence placed in him, and pledged not to take the support for granted.

Ibikunle said he had spent the last eight years preparing himself for the responsibility and assured the Bibire supporters, and the entire people of Ibadan Northwest that they would have no reason to regret giving him their votes.

He also appealed to party members to vote for all APM candidates from the top of the ballot to the bottom, saying the success of the party would be better achieved when its candidates received collective support across the board.

Other dignitaries at the meeting included Honourable Sunday Raphael, Secretary of Ibadan Southwest Local Government, Cause Trouble, members of the Ibikunle Campaign Council, party leaders and ward coordinators from the local government.

As at the time of filing this report, the meeting is currently ongoing, with further discussions centred on the 2027 elections and plans to mobilize support for the party across the local government.
