FBI Never Investigated Tinubu — Omokri

Nigeria’s ambassador-designate to Mexico, Reno Omokri, has said President Bola Tinubu was never investigated by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Omokri made the statement during an interview while reacting to claims linking Tinubu to an alleged drug trafficking case.
He said the FBI investigation concerned some individuals whose funds were considered suspicious, rather than the President.
“The President was not investigated by the FBI. That is a wrong statement. It’s a financial statement. Some persons were investigated by the FBI.
“The President was an accountant, and then the President had client funds. Those persons had been indicted by the FBI, and as a result of that, it said that those funds are suspicious.
“And then when it was brought to the attention of the President, the President agreed for a forfeiture,” he said.
