Barcelona Set to Tie Raphinha Down

Barcelona will formally unveil a new contract for captain Raphinha on Thursday, November 5, with the Brazilian forward set to remain at the Spanish giants until June 30, 2030, as the club moves to secure the future of one of its most influential players.
The club confirmed that the 29-year-old winger will sign the extension at 12 noon local time in the office of Barcelona president Joan Laporta before addressing the media at the club commercial office.
The agreement will stretch Raphinha existing contract by two years, as his previous deal was due to expire in June 2028, thereby securing his services for at least another three and a half seasons.
Barcelona sporting director Deco had earlier disclosed the agreement in principle during the club general assembly in September, when he confirmed that negotiations with the Brazilian and his representatives had reached an advanced stage.
The renewal comes amid an impressive 2026/27 campaign for Raphinha, who has scored 19 goals in all competitions, comprising 15 in La Liga and four in the UEFA Champions League.
His latest outstanding performance came in Barcelona 3-0 victory over Aston Villa on Tuesday, November 3, where he scored twice to further underline his importance to the team.
Since his arrival from Leeds United in 2022, Raphinha has developed into a key figure at Barcelona and has bagged greater responsibility within the squad under manager Hansi Flick.
Aside his attacking contributions, he currently serves as the first-team captain and has become one of the senior figures within the dressing room.
The Brazilian has also established an impressive record in the club history, with 190 appearances that make him the fourth Brazilian player with the most appearances for Barcelona, while his 94 goals place him fourth among the club highest-scoring Brazilian players.
Barcelona said supporters would be able to watch the contract-signing ceremony live through Barça Play and the club official YouTube channel. FC Barcelona
The extension is an important step in Barcelona long-term squad planning as the Catalan club seeks to retain its leading players and maintain competitiveness in domestic and European competitions.
