SA Security, Bibire Hails Makinde, Says He Has Best Blueprint To Reset Nigeria

Honourable Abayomi Fagbenro-Bibire, Special Adviser on Security Matters to Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has lauded the Reset Nigeria Agenda unveiled by his principal in Abuja as the most comprehensive policy blueprint, with the requisite depth and breadth to address the plethora of problems bedevilling the country.

He further declared that Governor Seyi Makinde possesses the exceptional foresight, extensive political experience, and proven leadership acumen to steer the country out of its present predicament and place it on the path of sustainable growth and development.

Bibire made this known while reacting to the unveiling of the manifesto on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at the prestigious Congress Hall of Transcorp Hotels and Suites, Abuja, where Makinde, the presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), unveiled his policy document ahead of the 2027 general election.

He noted that the manifesto captured a clear understanding of the fundamental issues confronting Nigeria, particularly the stifling economic hardship, persistent insecurity, glaring shortcomings in the education sector, and structural deficiencies within the political system, which, according to him, have continued to impede meaningful national progress.

Bibire maintained that the four cardinal pillars of the Reset Nigeria Agenda, which focus on resetting the economy, restructuring the security architecture, reforming education, and resetting the socio-political system, constitute a comprehensive framework for reversing the conditions that have held the country back.

He lamented that the Tinubu-led administration continues to plunge Nigerians into unprecedented economic hardship, with the spiralling cost of living, exorbitant transportation fares, and relentless increases in the prices of essential commodities pushing ordinary citizens to the brink of economic despair, as some workers could barely afford the daily fares required to get to their workplaces, while countless households perpetually struggle to put food on the table and make ends meet.

Bibire further maintained that Nigeria is in dire need of purposeful leadership premised on fresh ideas, strategic foresight, and a strong commitment to the welfare of the people, rather than narrow political calculations and hollow promises that amount to little more than sound and fury without clearly defined implementation strategies.

He also noted that the emphasis on measurable targets, institutional accountability, and practical solutions to the pressing concerns of ordinary Nigerians set the policy direction presented by Governor Makinde apart, particularly at a time when citizens continue to greatly clamour for meaningful relief and a government that can turn policy pronouncements into visible improvements in their daily lives.

The security adviser further argued that the proposed restructuring of the national security architecture deserved particular attention, given the urgent need for intelligence-driven operations, effective inter-agency cooperation, and stronger institutional collaboration to stem the tide of insecurity and confront persistent threats to lives and property across the country.

He added that Governor Makinde had established through his administration in Oyo State that purposeful governance can yield meaningful results, arguing that the achievements recorded in one state out of the 36 states of the federation is a glimpse of what he can accomplish at the national level if entrusted with the presidency, with the opportunity to replicate his developmental programmes and policies across all 36 states.

He, therefore, urged Nigerians to give the manifesto the attention it deserved and critically examine its policy proposals, implementation framework, and measurable commitments, stressing that the substance of any political agenda should, in the final analysis, be judged by its capacity to convert lofty promises into practical improvements in the lives of the people.

Bibire, while expressing confidence in the clear policy direction articulated by the Reset Nigeria Agenda, maintained that Governor Seyi Makinde has once again distinguished himself from the pack of other presidential candidates by virtue of a comprehensive blueprint that places pragmatic solutions, sweeping institutional reforms, and people-oriented governance on the front burner of national development.
