Regina Daniels Stays Unfazed as Ned Nwoko Loses Delta Senatorial Primary

Actress Regina Daniels has maintained her composure despite the recent political defeat of her estranged husband, Ned Nwoko.

Nwoko lost the Delta State senatorial primary election to former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, marking a significant blow to his political ambitions.

The primary election was conducted on Monday, May 18, 2026, in Ward 9, Okpanam, Delta North, drawing considerable local attention.

Instead of withdrawing from public view, Daniels has continued to focus on her professional career, personal development, and humanitarian initiatives.

In a recent social media post, she shared images of a vibrant flower bouquet, a luxury red gift box, and a handwritten note, which appeared to be from an admirer.

The posts showcased her cheerful and relaxed demeanor, prompting online discussions about her calm and poised attitude amid family controversies.

Professionally, Daniels remains active, promoting new film projects and sustaining her momentum in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

Beyond her career, she has intensified her charitable efforts, organizing a Children’s Day carnival and participating in multiple community outreach programs.

Earlier this month, she visited the free mental health hospital owned by Ebuka Obi, demonstrating her growing commitment to causes centered on wellbeing and social support.

Meanwhile, reactions to Nwoko’s defeat have generated significant online commentary, with some attributing his loss to the separation from Daniels.

A social media user, myfionamusk, remarked, “When Gina Mom say Gina help him win elections maybe she wasn’t exaggerating after all,” referencing claims made by Daniels’ mother, Rita Daniels, in 2025.

Rita had alleged that Regina’s fame and financial support, including an alleged $50,000 campaign contribution, significantly boosted Nwoko’s political journey.

However, other users contested this view, insisting Nwoko had an established political influence prior to his relationship with Daniels.

User incorruptible_babe wrote, “Ned has been influential in Delta State before Regina; perhaps she enhanced his popularity, but he was already established.”

Another, official_mrsureriches, added, “It was Okowa who helped him win the last election, not Regina.”

Daniels and Nwoko were once among Nigeria’s most prominent celebrity couples, frequently appearing together at public and political events despite ongoing controversies surrounding their marriage.

Before their separation, Daniels actively supported Nwoko’s political ambitions and even leveraged her social media presence to campaign for him during the 2023 elections.
