Ibadan South West LG Chairman, Hon. Akande Felicitates Muslim Faithful, Pledges Continued Grassroots Development

The Executive Chairman of Ibadan South West Local Government, Ambassador Kehinde Adeyemi Akande, has communicated profound greetings to Muslim faithful in the council area and across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir, popularly known as Ileya Festival.
In a statement signed by Oyekunbi Adediran, Head of the Information Unit, Ibadan South West LG, Akande described the festival as a period of “sacrifice, obedience, love, tolerance, and unshakable faith in Almighty Allah,” and urged citizens to uphold peace, unity, and selfless service for the progress of society.
The council boss also used the occasion to thank residents for their support, noting that their cooperation has contributed significantly to the achievements recorded across various sectors in the local government area.
Speaking further, Akande called for reflection, gratitude, and renewed commitment to peaceful coexistence.
He also prayed for the safe release of abducted teachers and students in the state, as well as for their families to have the strength to endure the ordeal.
He also announced that his administration would soon commission several projects across the council area, describing them as “unprecedented” and directed at bringing sustainable development closer to residents.
The chairman encouraged residents to celebrate the festival responsibly, extend support to the less privileged, and promote unity regardless of religious or political affiliation.
He concluded by praying for peace, progress, and prosperity in every home, and for divine intervention to address insecurity in the state.
