Atlético Madrid Rejects €150m Real Madrid Bid for Julián Álvarez Amid Transfer Drama

Atlético Madrid have reportedly rejected a €150 million bid from arch-rivals Real Madrid for star forward Julián Álvarez, in a move that has intensified the heated rivalry between the two Spanish giants.
The offer was reportedly made under the leadership of Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez, as part of an ambitious attempt to secure the Argentine striker’s services ahead of the new season.
Atlético Madrid turned down the proposal outright, insisting that the player’s release clause stands at €500 million and was not open to negotiation.
The club’s response to the bid was described as sharp and dismissive, with Atlético allegedly mocking Real Madrid for misunderstanding the club’s position, while also taking indirect jabs at their rivals.
The exchange has further fuelled tensions in the Madrid derby rivalry, with both Atlético Madrid and Real Madrid competing fiercely for domestic and European dominance.
Álvarez, who has been in strong form this season, has reportedly scored eight La Liga goals and provided four assists, while also netting 10 goals in the UEFA Champions League campaign.
The Argentine forward remains under contract until 2030, making any potential transfer both complex and highly expensive.
The saga adds another chapter to one of football’s most intense rivalries, with both clubs continuing to trade competitive and symbolic blows on and off the pitch.
