June 12: Ibadan Southwest Chairmanship Hopeful, Olu Bello Hails Governor Makinde, Urges Nigerians Not to Lose Faith in Democracy

The leading chairmanship aspirant for Ibadan Southwest Local Government, Hon. Olumide Bello, has called on Nigerians, especially young people, to remain hopeful and committed to the ideals of democracy, saying the country can only move forward when citizens continue to believe in its future.

Bello made this known in a statement issued to commemorate this year’s Democracy Day celebration and made available to Polity Reporters on Friday.

He said June 12 should remind everyone of the sacrifices made by many patriots who stood for the people’s right to choose their leaders, stressing that democracy must continue to be protected and strengthened at all levels of government.
