SA Security Bibire Preaches Peace, Security On Democracy Day, Reaffirms Governor Makinde’s Commitment To Safer Oyo State

The Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Security Matters, Honourable Abayomi Fagbenro (Bibire), has called on residents of Oyo State to remain committed to peace and collective security as Nigeria celebrates Democracy Day, stressing that democratic governance can only make meaning when lives and property are properly protected.

Bibire stated this while speaking on the significance of June 12, noting that democracy and security are closely linked, as no society can enjoy political freedom in an atmosphere of fear, violence, or instability.

He explained that the sacrifices made in the democratization of Nigeria must be matched with continued efforts by citizens, government, and security agencies to ensure that peace is sustained at all levels of society.

According to him, the present administration in Oyo State under Governor Seyi Makinde has continued to prioritize security as a foundation for development, with regular support for security agencies and improved response structures across the State.

He urged residents to remain security-conscious and supportive of security agencies by providing timely and credible information, adding that the “see something, say something” principle remains essential in preventing crime and maintaining unbreakable order.

He reaffirmed that the State Government will continue to strengthen collaboration with all security formations to ensure that Oyo remains safe, peaceful, and conducive for democratic and economic activities.
