Sowore Unveils Tech Powered 2027 Agenda To Fight Corruption

Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has unveiled parts of his 2027 election manifesto, proposing the use of artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain technology and drones as key tools for tackling corruption, improving governance and strengthening national security.

Sowore, in posts shared on his verified X account, said his proposed administration would deploy emerging technologies to transform public finance management and security operations, describing technology as the foundation of a new approach to governance.

The former presidential candidate said artificial intelligence would effectively serve as Nigeria’s “Minister of Finance” under his government, arguing that AI driven systems would reduce human interference, waste and corruption in the management of public funds.

According to Sowore, AI would continuously monitor government transactions, detect suspicious activities, identify procurement irregularities and provide real time audits of public spending to prevent financial abuse.

He also proposed the use of blockchain technology to create a transparent public ledger where government contracts, budget allocations and expenditures would be permanently recorded and made available for public scrutiny.

Sowore argued that blockchain would make it difficult for officials to secretly alter financial records, while artificial intelligence would help expose corruption before public resources are mismanaged.

The AAC candidate said the combination of AI and blockchain would make corruption “technologically difficult, easily detectable, and swiftly punishable”, adding that his government would focus on reducing bureaucracy and improving accountability through automation.

Beyond public finance reforms, Sowore also announced plans to deploy drone technology as a major component of his national security strategy, describing drones as a tool that could improve surveillance, rapid response and accountability in defence operations.

He said his technology based governance model would reduce dependence on traditional bureaucratic structures, replacing what he described as inefficient systems with faster and more transparent digital processes.

The manifesto proposal forms part of Sowore’s early preparations for the 2027 presidential election, where he is expected to campaign on anti corruption reforms, institutional restructuring and technology driven governance.

While the proposal has generated discussions around the future role of technology in governance, questions remain over implementation issues, including data protection, cybersecurity, legal frameworks and human oversight of AI based decision making systems.

Sowore maintained that Nigeria’s future depends on moving away from traditional political practices and embracing technology as a means of improving transparency, efficiency and public trust in government.
