SA Security, Bibire Dedicates NFSS Award to Makinde, Commends Huge Security Investments

The Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Security Matters, Hon. Abayomi Fagbenro-Bibire, has dedicated the Distinguished Service Award presented to him by the Nigerian Forests Security Service (NFSS) to Governor Seyi Makinde.

Polity Reporters reports that the Nigerian Forests Security Service (NFSS), on Saturday, honoured the Oyo State Security Adviser with the award in recognition of his substantial interventions and support for the service and other security stakeholders across the state.

Speaking at the event held at Felicia Hall in Ona Ara Local Government Area, Bibire commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his huge investments in security, saying he continues to use every available means to fortify the security architecture of Oyo State and ensure that the good people of Oyo State can sleep with both eyes closed.

He said the governor’s strong commitment to security had gone a long way in keeping the peace across the length and breadth of Oyo State, adding that the results of the administration’s investment could be seen in the comprehensive peace being enjoyed by the good people of Oyo State.

Bibire described the award as a validation of the laudable work being done by Governor Makinde in the area of security, stressing that he was only playing his part in a security framework backed by the clear commitment and support of the number one citizen of Oyo State.

He added that the governor’s willingness to put his money where his mouth is on security had given security agencies the needed backing to tackle threats and keep the state safe.

He said the administration would continue to do everything necessary to ensure that the security gains recorded under Governor Makinde are not compromised.

Bibire, however, stressed that security is not the responsibility of government and security agencies alone but a duty we must all shoulder, urging residents, traditional institutions, community leaders and other stakeholders to join hands with the government to protect their communities and keep Oyo State safe.

He added that when residents keep their eyes and ears open and pass useful information to the appropriate authorities on time, security agencies would be better placed to nip threats in the bud and keep criminal activities at bay.

Bibire also donated a substantial amount of money to the NFSS and assured the service of continued cooperation and support in the discharge of its responsibilities.

The NFSS also honoured other distinguished personalities, amongst them were the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Wasiu Olatunbosun, and the Chairman of the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport Upgrade Committee, Arc. Ifeoluwa Akande, among others, in recognition of their efforts and impact in the state.

The Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government, Hon. Temitope Glorious, was also honoured at the event and supported the NFSS with cash and mobility assistance.

The event was also attended by the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Security, Hon. Sunday Odukoya, a representative of the Olubadan of Ibadanland and other government officials, traditional leaders and critical stakeholders.
