SA Security Bibire Welcomes Students Back, Urges Academic Excellence, Security Consciousness

The Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Security Matters, Hon. Abayomi Fagbenro-Bibire, has welcomed pupils and students across Oyo State back to school as they begin the first term of the new academic session.

Bibire, in a statement, urged the students to hit the ground running and approach the new term with seriousness and determination, charging them to give their studies their best shot and work hard to come out in flying colours at the end of the session.

He described the new term as a fresh opportunity to raise the bar and improve on their performance in the previous session, urging those who did well to aim higher while those who fell short of their expectations should roll up their sleeves, work harder, and do better.

He encouraged the students to concentrate on their studies by paying rapt attention in class, respecting their teachers, making good use of their study time and steering clear of activities that might distract them from their academic goals.

The Special Adviser also urged the students to keep their guard up and remain security conscious while in school and on their way to and from school, advising them not to follow strangers, accept rides or gifts from people they do not know, visit unsafe places or turn a blind eye to anything unusual around their school environment.

This was as he encouraged them to raise the alarm promptly by drawing the attention of their teachers, parents or appropriate authorities to suspicious movements or activities.

Bibire assured the students, teachers, and parents that Governor Seyi Makinde remains committed to their safety and is pulling out all the stops to ensure that schools across the State remain safe places for learning.

Bibire, who confirmed that security agencies are working round the clock to protect schools and communities across the State, called on teachers, parents, school authorities and students to play their part by staying vigilant and passing useful information to the appropriate authorities.

He wished the students a fruitful first term, urging them to raise the bar, set their sights higher and work hard to achieve results better than those recorded in the last academic session.

“Happy resumption to all our pupils and students across Oyo State.

“This first term gives you another chance to do better than you did last session, so take your studies seriously, listen to your teachers and give your very best.

“Be security conscious, stay away from unsafe places and speak up when you notice anything unusual.

“Governor Seyi Makinde is doing everything possible to keep you safe in school, but we all have a role to play.

“I wish you a successful term and I look forward to seeing you come out in flying colours,” Bibire said.
