OYSSTF Holds First Ever Send Forth Ceremony, Honours Retired Surveillance Administrator, Olaoye

The Oyo State Security Trust Fund, under the leadership of the Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Security Matters, Hon. Abayomi Fagbenro-Bibire, has held a send forth ceremony for its retired Surveillance Administrator, Mr. John Olawale Olaoye, after 35 years of service to the state.

The colourful ceremony, the first of its kind in the history of the OYSSTF, was held at the spacious premises of the Fund, with family members, friends, management, staff and well wishers gathering to celebrate Olaoye and thank God for his successful years of service.

Speaking at the event, the Head of Operations, Mr. Akin Oyedele, thanked Bibire for making the ceremony possible, describing it as a fitting way to appreciate Olaoye for his years of service to Oyo State and his outstanding contributions to the progress of the Security Trust Fund.

Oyedele said Olaoye made outstanding contributions to the administration of the Control Room, which houses the CCTV monitoring system and the 615 emergency platform, noting that his invaluable efforts supported smooth operations and enhanced the quality of service delivered through both security systems.

“He would remain awake at a time when nature demanded that everyone else be asleep to make sure the Control Room remained operational and that the system through which emergencies could be reported did not go down,” Oyedele said.

He thanked Olaoye for his commitment to the job and prayed that God would continue to guide him and give him good health, peace, and happiness as he begins life after active service.

In his remarks, Bibire said the ceremony was part of the commitment of Governor Seyi Makinde to appreciate people who have given their best in the service of Oyo State.

“Governor Makinde believes that people who have served the state and given their best should be appreciated and honoured, and this is one of the lessons I have learnt from him,” Bibire said.

The Special Adviser thanked Olaoye for his 35 years of distinguished and dedicated service, as well as his invaluable input into the efficient running of the OYSSTF, particularly the Control Room, where the CCTV and 615 systems are closely monitored and kept fully operational.

Bibire described Olaoye as a committed administrator who took his duties seriously, saying he saw his dedication within the few weeks after assuming office as Special Adviser on Security.

“I noticed very quickly that Mr Olaoye is a highly disciplined and conscientious man who takes his responsibilities seriously and never handles his duties with kid gloves.

“He had the passion and zeal for the job, and that kind of commitment is something we should appreciate because it is not easy to find everywhere today,” Bibire added.

Bibire therefore presented a gift to Olaoye on behalf of the management and staff of the Oyo State Security Trust Fund in appreciation of his service and practical input to the Fund.

He prayed God to reward Olaoye for his years of service, keep him in good health, grant him many more fruitful years and give him the joy of enjoying the fruits of his labour with his family.

Speaking on behalf of the management, the Director of Administration and Supplies, Mrs. Oladebo, described Olaoye as a man who gave his all to his duties and encouraged his successor to continue to learn from his wealth of experience whenever necessary.

She wished him a peaceful and rewarding retirement, praying that God would keep him and his family in good health and grant him many more years to enjoy the new chapter of his life.

Other members of the management, staff, family members and friends also spoke warmly about the retiree, with many of them describing him as a man who never approached his duties with a lackadaisical attitude.

Reacting, Olaoye thanked Bibire for honouring him with the ceremony, saying he never expected such a grand send forth.

“I sincerely appreciate the Special Adviser for doing this for me because I never saw it coming,” Olaoye said.

He described Bibire as a leader who cares about the welfare of people working with him and is willing to go the extra mile to ensure that they are treated well.

“The healthy and peaceful working atmosphere we have at the Security Trust Fund is something I can personally testify to,” he said.

Olaoye prayed that God would continue to bless the Oyo Security Adviser with the wherewithal to succeed in his responsibilities and guide him as he continues to contribute to the security of Oyo State.

He also thanked the management and staff of the OYSSTF, his family, friends and everyone who attended the ceremony, saying their presence made the occasion special for him.

The ceremony ended with a group photograph of the retiree, management, staff, family members and friends, followed by merriment and dancing.
