2015 Support for Buhari Brought No Reward — Kwankwaso

Former Kano State governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has said he received nothing after helping former President Muhammadu Buhari win the 2015 election.
Kwankwaso made the statement in an interview with Arise TV on Monday.
He said he and his supporters delivered nearly two million votes for Buhari but did not gain recognition or benefits.
Kwankwaso added that he risked personal safety during the election but saw no reward either for himself or the constituencies he represented.
He did not specify what he expected in return or which promises were unmet by the Buhari administration.
Reflecting on past governments, Kwankwaso said Olusegun Obasanjo tried his best, Umaru Yar’adua faced serious health challenges, and Goodluck Jonathan served only one full term due to a disputed agreement.
He also noted issues with the current Tinubu administration.
Kwankwaso said Nigerians at the grassroots and political levels are now calling for change.
He explained that past failures created opportunities for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), which he formally joined with Peter Obi on May 3.
Since joining the NDC, he said the party has gained significant support, with offices opening across the country and abroad.
Kwankwaso also emphasized that a president from your region does not guarantee good governance.
He said leadership quality matters more than regional origin, stressing the need for committed, enthusiastic, and determined leaders for the 2027 elections.
