Ibadan South West Local Government Chairman, Hon. Akande Congratulates Governor Seyi Makinde on Seven Years of Transformative Leadership

The Executive Chairman of Ibadan South West Local Government, Ambassador Kehinde Adeyemi Akande, has congratulated Governor Seyi Makinde on his seven years of impactful, visionary, and people-oriented leadership in Oyo State.

Hon. Akande, in a statement signed by Oyekunbi Adediran, Head of the Information Unit and released to newsmen, commended Governor Makinde for demonstrating uncommon leadership, administrative excellence, prudence, and commitment to the development and transformation of Oyo State.

He described the governor’s administration as a shining example of purposeful governance, transparency, accountability, and inclusive leadership that has positively affected every sector of the state.

The chairman placed premium on the administration’s achievements in infrastructure, including the construction and rehabilitation of major roads, rural road interventions, and strategic transportation improvements that have boosted economic activities and facilitated movement for residents and investors.

He further praised the governor’s strides in education, citing the recruitment of teachers, renovation of schools, and improved learning environments.

Akande noted the health sector’s transformation under Makinde’s leadership, including the upgrade of primary healthcare centres, improved medical facilities, recruitment of health workers, and expanded access to quality healthcare services.

He also applauded the administration’s accomplishments in agriculture, youth empowerment, security, workers and pensioners’ welfare, farmers’ support, and initiatives for employment and entrepreneurship.

The chairman commended Governor Makinde for consistently ensuring the prompt payment of salaries and pensions on or before the 25th of every month.

Hon. Akande acknowledged the governor’s support for local government administration and grassroots development through equitable distribution of projects and democratic inclusiveness.
