Martinelli’s late winner sends Brazil past Japan

Brazil defeated Japan 2-1 to book their place in the World Cup Round of 16 after a dramatic match decided in stoppage time.

The match was played in Houston and started with Japan showing strong discipline and defensive organisation.

Gabriel Martinelli scored the winning goal in the sixth minute of stoppage time after reacting fastest inside the box.

The late goal sealed a dramatic 2-1 victory for Brazil and eliminated Japan from the tournament.
