Ex-Minister Arrested at Airport

Former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, has reportedly been arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja shortly after arriving from Enugu on a chartered flight.
It was gathered that the former minister was taken into custody on Wednesday upon arrival at the airport, in what is linked to an ongoing investigation into allegations of certificate forgery.
According to reports, Nnaji is expected to be handed over to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) for interrogation as part of a long-running probe.
The ICPC had reportedly been tracking the former minister since his resignation last year following allegations that he falsified his academic credentials.
Nnaji was appointed Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology by President Bola Tinubu on August 16, 2023, but later resigned on October 7, 2025, after allegations emerged that he forged his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate.
The development marks a renewed phase in investigations into the allegations that led to his exit from the federal cabinet.
