Adelabu Breaks Silence On APM Defection Rumour

The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has dismissed reports suggesting that he is planning to defect from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), describing the claims as false and baseless.

Adelabu, through his media team, said he remained a committed member of the APC and had no plan to leave the party for another political platform.

The clarification followed reports circulating in some quarters that the former Oyo State governorship candidate was considering a move to APM ahead of future political activities.

The minister urged members of the public to disregard the rumours, stressing that they were unfounded and should not be given attention.

Adelabu reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC, adding that his priority remains contributing to national development rather than engaging in political speculations.

The development comes amid increasing political realignments and rumours of possible movements among politicians ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Adelabu, who previously contested the Oyo State governorship election under the platform of the Accord Party in 2019 before joining the APC, has remained a prominent figure within the ruling party in the state.

His camp maintained that there was no truth in the defection reports and advised the public to rely on verified information rather than unconfirmed claims.
