Kwankwasiyya, Obidients In Closed-Door Meeting

Leaders of the Kwankwasiyya and Obidient movements held a closed-door meeting in Abuja, in what occasioned a significant step in political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The meeting, which lasted about three hours, took place at the national headquarters of the Obidient Movement following a solidarity visit from the Kwankwasiyya delegation.

Key figures at the meeting included Moses Paul, a former AMAC chairmanship candidate, and activist Aisha Yesufu, though the details of the discussions remain undisclosed.

Kwankwasiyya National Coordinator, Habeeb Mohammed, spoke after the meeting, urging for unity and collective action to address Nigeria’s challenges.

“It is time for everybody to stand and project Nigeria to become the country of our dreams,” Mohammed said, affirming the need for mutual support.

“We need to nurture that dream and ensure it doesn’t die,” he added, stressing that unity is essential for national progress.

Mohammed further urged Nigerians to rise above ethnic, religious, and regional divisions, calling for national unity as the key to progress.

He also encouraged young people to remain actively involved in politics and civic engagement, highlighting their importance in national transformation.

Obidient Movement National Coordinator, Yunusa Tanko, held similar position, amplifying that Nigeria’s strength lies in its people, particularly their intellect and creativity.

“Let us mobilise, not demobilise,” Tanko said, calling for renewed patriotism and productive citizen participation.

He also expressed gratitude for the efforts of those who have worked tirelessly for over four years to ensure the movement’s success.

Tanko urged respect for all leaders in the struggle, emphasizing that Nigeria needs everyone’s contribution for change.

The meeting followed closely after Peter Obi, former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, met with Seyi Makinde in Ibadan.

Obi has intensified his consultations across the country, meeting with political leaders as part of preparations for the 2027 elections.

Obi was accompanied by Igbo elders, senators from the South-East, and other political figures to the meeting with Makinde.
