APC Chairman Affirms Party’s Commitment to Democracy Amid Form Sales

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has affirmed that the ongoing sale of expression of interest and nomination forms reflects the party’s dedication to openness and internal democracy.
Yilwatda made the statement on Wednesday after inspecting the exercise at the Abuja Continental Hotel.
He noted that aspirants are freely purchasing forms to contest various positions, including the presidency.
The APC chairman stressed that the high-level of participation, including individuals seeking offices currently held by sitting governors, senators, and even President Bola Tinubu, validates the widespread acceptance of the party.
He praised the smooth execution of the process, with no complaints from participants.
Yilwatda expressed confidence in the efficiency of the system, which involves banks, party officials, and administrative units.
He added that the transparency of the exercise is a confirmation of the party’s commitment to inclusivity, which aligns with the founding principles of the APC.
On the possibility of extending the deadline for the purchase of forms, Yilwatda mentioned that no decision had been made.
He stated that any such move would follow due process and require approval from the party’s National Working Committee.
“For now, there is no extension,” Yilwatda concluded.
