Tonye Cole Pulls Out of Rivers APC Governorship Race

Tonye Cole has withdrawn from the Rivers State APC governorship primary, saying party unity comes first.
He explained that the decision followed extensive talks with party stakeholders across the state.
Cole described himself as a committed democrat and said he would back whoever emerges as the party’s candidate.
He thanked his supporters, including youth groups, women associations, elders, and party members who had stood by him.
Cole urged his followers to remain calm, stay peaceful, and respect the party’s decisions.
He said the withdrawal was a result of deep reflection and a commitment to APC’s stability in Rivers State.
Some party members applauded him for putting the party ahead of personal ambition.
Others took to social media expressing disappointment, saying they hoped he would continue his bid.
Cole called on party members to rally behind the APC’s presidential and other candidates for the next election cycle.
