Hon. Seriki Lights Up Ward 8 With Solar Street Lights, Applauds Akande’s Development Drive

Residents of Ward 8 in Ibadan South West Local Government have begun enjoying improved visibility at night following the installation of solar powered street lights provided by the Councillor representing the ward, Hon. Seriki Idris Abiodun.
The intervention has brightened several parts of the ward that were previously without proper street lighting, bringing relief to residents and business owners who now feel more confident carrying out their lawful activities beyond daytime.
Hon. Seriki said the project was carried out in response to the requests of the people, explaining that every elected representative has a duty to listen to the needs of the community and provide practical solutions where possible.
He noted that a brighter environment helps to discourage criminal activities, supports the work of security agencies, and gives residents greater peace of mind in their day to day movement.
The Ward 8 Councillor said his priority remains delivering projects that make a substantial difference in the lives of the people, adding that the confidence placed in him at the polls will continue to be rewarded with purposeful representation.
He commended the Executive Chairman of Ibadan South West Local Government, Hon. Kehinde Akande, for maintaining a development driven administration that has continued to encourage growth across the council area.
According to him, the Chairman has demonstrated that good leadership is measured by visible impact, saying his support for grassroots development has motivated councillors to remain focused on projects that directly benefit their various wards.
Hon. Seriki thanked community leaders, artisans, transport operators, market traders, youths, and other residents whose cooperation contributed to the successful completion of the project.
He appealed to members of the public to take ownership of the street lights by protecting them from vandalism and ensuring that the facilities continue to serve the purpose for which they were provided.
Hon. Seriki assured the people that he would not relent in attracting more projects to Ward 8, promising to continue working with the local government leadership and other stakeholders to improve security, promote development, and raise the quality of life across the ward.
