Fagbenro-Bibire Unites Ward 12 Stakeholders, Sues for Peace Amongst Aspirants

The Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Security Matters, Hon. Abayomi Fagbenro, popularly known as Bibire, has united stakeholders of Ward 12, Ibadan Southwest Local Government, following the political disagreements that greeted the recent councillorship primary election in the ward.
Bibire, who hosted councillorship aspirants, the serving councillor, incoming councillor and other party stakeholders at his Adabeji residence on Sunday, called on all sides to put aside their differences and work together for the progress of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
The meeting became necessary after the primary election occasioned discord among some party members, with stakeholders nursing different grievances over the outcome of the exercise.
Speaking at the meeting, Bibire appealed to all and sundry to let peace take the front seat, stressing that the party remains bigger than any individual ambition and that everyone must work together to move the party forward.
The APM chieftain who said politics is about sacrifice, urged that they bury the hatchet, embrace one another and avoid anything that might create cracks within the party.
Bibire, while reminding them that the battle ahead requires a united house, charged them to return to their various areas, mobilize the people and work towards victory for all APM candidates from top to bottom.
He specifically urged them to begin preparations and map out strategies for the success of Governor Seyi Makinde’s presidential ambition, the guber contest of Bimbo Adekanmbi, House of Assembly, and other local government elections.
The security adviser assured party members that loyalty and commitment would not go unnoticed, stressing that those who continue to stand with the party would be remembered for political dividends.
He further advised the incoming councillor and other stakeholders to work with everyone, including those who contested during the primary, because the strength of the party, according to him, lies in the ability of members to unite after disagreements.
Speaking on leadership, he said true leadership is about bringing people on board, lending a listening ear to their concerns, and ensuring that decisions taken are in tune with the yearnings and aspirations of the people.
He then charged party members to choose peace over rancour, saying a united team stands a better chance of achieving success than one distracted by internal disagreements.
The highly productive meeting was attended by Hon. Suleiman, Ward 12 Stakeholders Chairman; Hon. Adebanjo Sunday Raphael, SLG; Hon. Olumide Bello, Supervisory Councillor for Trade and Commerce; Hon. Ayoade Phillip, serving councillor; Hon. Jagun, incoming councillor; other aspirants and party stakeholders.
At the end of the meeting, everyone present had a group photograph, with a resolve to put the past behind them and join forces as one family to pursue the success of the party at the polls ahead.
